Background
Dr. Lee is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the
Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
and Harvard Medical School. He was born and went to school in Pusan, Korea
until he came to University of Iowa in 1993 for M.S. study. Under Dr.
Roderic S. Lakes , he studied viscoelasticity of composite material,
nonlinear property of polymer foam and modeling and analysis of thin
holographic diffusers. After military service of 1996-1997, he came back
to University of Wisconsin-Madison to study more of biomedical
engineering, especially biomechanics. He was working on mechanical
properties of human and bovine bone by using resonant ultrasound
spectroscopy (RUS) and viscoelasticity of particulated composite materials
(which exhibit extreme damping at the transition temperature of the
particle) by using broadband viscoelastic spectroscopy (BVS). At the
Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory, Dr. Lee is working on the efficacy of
structural rigidity measured from QCT in predicting risk of pathologic
femur fracture. |
